CM Mohan Yadav Highlights MP’s Hospitality Sector Potential

-KH News Desk (editorial1@imaws.org)

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has underscored the immense growth potential of the state’s hospitality industry, citing a strategic focus on forest, religious, and cultural tourism. Speaking via video message at an industry summit in Indore, the CM revealed that the state government is offering substantial investment-linked incentives, including subsidies of up to 30% for large-scale hotel projects, to encourage a robust pipeline of new developments.

Key Growth Drivers & State Support

The state government is positioning Madhya Pradesh as a premier destination by leveraging its diverse tourism assets:

  • Strategic Focus: Active promotion of niche tourism segments, specifically Forest (Wildlife), Religious (Pilgrimage), and Cultural heritage.

  • Investment Incentives: Introduction of a 30% subsidy for large hotel projects to attract national and international developers.

  • Pipeline Growth: The CM expressed confidence in the increasing number of hospitality projects choosing MP due to “immense possibilities” and government backing.

The Indore Summit: Data Protection Focus

While the CM highlighted growth, the summit (organized by FHRAI and HRAWI) primarily aimed to educate the industry on regulatory changes:

  • Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP): Discussions centered on the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules 2025 and their specific implications for the hospitality sector.

  • Compliance & Preparedness: Leaders focused on strengthening data security, regulatory clarity, and the transition to India’s evolving data protection framework.

  • Key Leadership Present: The event saw participation from Tulsiram Silawat (State Water Resources Minister), Surendra Kumar Jaiswal (President, FHRAI), and Jimmy Shaw (President, HRAWI).
